The applications for the University of Malta Scholarships 2024/25 are available. International students are invited to apply for the University of Malta Scholarships 2024/25 to acquire their Masters, and PhD Degree programs.
Also, students from outside the European Union or EEA can apply. Please note that professional doctorates and MBA-type programs are not eligible. The University of Malta (L-Università ta’ Malta), also known as UM, is the only public university in Malta.

Who can apply under the UM Malta Scholarship 2024?
Those who are eligible to apply are applicants who have been accepted unconditionally to read for a Master’s by research or a Ph.D. on a full-time and part-time basis. This means you need to get an admission offer first, then you can apply for the scholarships at Malta University.

Scholarship Coverage
Students who merit the admission by successfully completing the admission process and who may not have the means to cover the full tuition fee will be considered for the Full or Partial scholarship.
- Tuition Fee Waivers: 40 to 100 percent
Number of Scholarships
A total of 100 scholarships will be awarded split over two schemes:
- Ph.D. and Masters Programs (mainly by research)
- Masters Program (mainly taught)
Up to 50 scholarships for those who are accepted to read for a Ph.D. or Masters (mainly by research). Up to 50 scholarships for those to pursue Master’s Degree programs that are mainly taught.
