In case you are wondering, A Letter of Recommendation is a letter that is made by the one who knows you, who can recommend you for your scholarship or job especially when you are travelling abroad for it. But in this article, we will focus on how to write the best Recommendation Letter for a Scholarship. A scholarship application is inadequate without a letter of recommendation.
The Recommendation letter gives information regarding the character, qualities, and achievements of a candidate to fulfil the basic standards of a chosen scholarship. As earlier stated, consider this letter as an essential part of the application selection because there is no scholarship without a recommendation letter.
Please note: you do not write a letter of recommendation yourself. It should be written by your Boss, Professor or anyone who knows you best and has the capability to write such letters. It also hinges on the type of scholarship and criteria; for instance, if you have applied to a sports scholarship program or any athletic Scholarship. Then the letter must be written by an athletic coach. Or if an academic scholarship, it should be written by your Professor.

HOW TO WRITE (FORMAT OF RECOMMENDATION LETTER)
A scholarship letter of recommendation should fill an entire page (approximately 300 – 500 words) and contain a letterhead, an introduction, 2 body paragraphs, and a conclusion.
• Letterhead
At the top left or right-hand corner of the page, the author should include the following information:
~ Date of Writing
~ Full Name
~ Title
~ School or University Name, logo
~ Street Address
~ City, State, Zip Code
~ Preferred Contact (optional)
• Introductory Paragraph
The introductory paragraph will briefly introduce the candidate; the name and specific details of the candidate’s suitability will be described in the body paragraphs, so the introduction only needs to be 2 or 3 sentences in length. In the blank white space “Write your full name”.
In the introductory paragraph, the author (a teacher) simply states who they are recommending for which scholarship and the nature and length of their relationship with the candidate.
• Main Body Paragraph
Here, the author will describe the ways in which the candidate fulfills the criteria for the scholarship like the candidate’s grades and academic performance. This paragraph should be approximately 3 to 5 sentences in length. In the blank white space “Write your full name”.
• Conclusion
A scholarship recommendation letter should end with a concluding paragraph which emphasizes the author’s endorsement of the candidate and leaves an invitation to contact the author by email or telephone (a preferred contact, not necessarily both).After which, the author will also need to sign the letter by hand in order to certify its authenticity.
This conclusion should leave the reader with a profound impression of the author’s confidence in the candidate and will generally run from 2 to 4 sentences in length.
