Benefits

1) Monthly grant rate 1,050 EUR

2) Health insurance: A health insurance valid in Austria and recognized by the Austrian authorities is required for the duration of the stay in Austria. The OeAD-GmbH can support you with the conclusion of a valid, adequate health insurance. Monthly costs: As a rule, currently around 55 to 200 EUR (guideline; depends on age, scholarship category and state of health). The costs for the insurance are to be paid from the scholarship.

3) Accommodation: On request, the OeAD Housing Administration will endeavor to provide scholarship holders with accommodation (dormitory or apartment). Monthly costs: EUR 220 to 470 (depending on the convenience of the scholarship holder). The OeAD Housing Administration has to pay 18 EUR / month as administrative compensation for the placement. The costs for the accommodation are to be paid from the scholarship.

4) Travel expenses: Scholarship holders from countries that are not members of the EU, EFTA or OECD are paid a lump sum for travel expenses, depending on their country of origin.Submission deadline: 03/01/2022

Notes on application: Students can apply
– the descendants of forced laborers under the Nazi regime (regardless of their country of origin)- or come from those states that suffered particularly under the Nazi regime, especially under the recruitment of forced laborers.
Research grants can be applied for- for bachelor theses- for diploma and master theses

– for dissertations No scholarships are awarded for a bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degree in Austria, for summer courses, language courses, clinical traineeships or internships.
Applicants may not have studied / researched / worked scientifically in Austria in the six months before the start of the scholarship.
Maximum age :for doctoral students: 40 years (born on or after March 1st, 1982)for others: 35 years (born on or after 03/01/1987)
The following documents must be uploaded when applying online at www.scholarships.at . to fill in:

– Fully completed online application form including curriculum vitae and research plan for the stay in Austria, which shows what is planned in Austria and what preliminary work has already been done.

– Two letters of recommendation from university professors. The letters of recommendation can be freely worded, must have the letterhead, date, signature of the person making the recommendation and stamp, and must not be older than six months when the application is submitted. The letters of recommendation and the confirmation of supervision must not be issued by the same person.

– Confirmation of a lecturer at the Austrian target university, university of applied sciences or research institution about the scientific supervision- Scanned passport copy (page with name and photo)

– If necessary, the scanned copy of the university degree certificate for your bachelor’s, diploma or master’s degree or proof of diploma / master’s or doctoral studies at a foreign university.- Written evidence of the completion of the bachelor’s, master’s / diploma, PhD or doctoral program at the home university.

– For the descendants of forced laborers:Corresponding evidence, in particular the processing number or copy of the notification from the Austrian Fund for “Reconciliation, Peace and Cooperation” (Reconciliation Fund) or the German Foundation “Remembrance, Responsibility and Future”.

Selection:The Board of Trustees makes the selection based on the following criteria:- Formal examination (by the OeAD-GmbH)

– Why would you like to work scientifically in Austria?

– What exactly would you like to do in Austria as part of your research stay?

– How would you like to carry out your project, which scientific methods would you like to use?

– What is the research goal for your stay in Austria?- What work steps have you planned to achieve the research goal (library and archive work, interviews, …)?

– Has preparatory work already been carried out to achieve the research objective (if so, which)?

– Where would you like to carry out this project (library, archive, institute …)?

– Previous course of studies (duration and grades) or list of publications or documentation of previous artistic activity?- Overall plausibility of the application.
