The FIFA Master in Management, Law, and Humanities of Sport, organized by the International Centre for Sports Studies (CIES), is an esteemed graduate program aimed at advancing management education within the sports industry. This one-year program is a collaboration between three prestigious universities. De Montfort University in Leicester (England), SDA Bocconi School of Management in Milan (Italy), and the University of Neuchâtel (Switzerland). The FIFA Master provides an unparalleled educational journey, immersing its students in three distinct European countries, each celebrated for its rich sporting culture. What the Fully Funded FIFA Masters Scholarship covers

  • Two full scholarships worth CHF 45,000 each are available to candidates, covering both course fees and living expenses.

For Partial funding:

  • Two full FIFA/CIES International University Network scholarships, each valued at CHF 45,000, are offered to graduates of the FIFA/CIES International University Network Programmes. Applicants for this scholarship must clearly indicate their graduation from one of these programs on the online application form.
  • Four scholarships covering course fees only, each worth CHF 25,000, are available to all candidates.

Eligibility Criteria for the Fully Funded FIFA Masters Scholarship 

All prospective candidates for the FIFA Master in Management, Law, and Humanities of Sport must meet the following comprehensive criteria:

  • Educational Background: Candidates must have completed a full course of university study in any discipline and successfully obtained a degree by the application date. This requirement ensures that applicants possess a solid academic foundation and are capable of undertaking graduate-level coursework.
  • English Proficiency: An excellent command of English is mandatory, demonstrated by a minimum TOEFL score of 100 (Internet-based test) or an IELTS score of at least 7. This criterion is crucial as the program is conducted in English, and strong language skills are necessary for effective communication and comprehension.
  • Work Experience: Previous work experience is required, highlighting the importance of practical experience and the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world settings. This experience can come from various sectors, but experience related to sports management is particularly valued.

Curriculum Vitae / Résumé

Your curriculum vitae or résumé must be in English and should be concise, limited to one or two pages.

GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) / GRE (Graduate Record Examinations)

The GMAT or GRE are optional. If you have taken either of these exams, please attach a copy of your score along with the other supporting documents.

Application Procedure for the Fully Funded FIFA Masters Scholarship

To access the FIFA Master Online Application Form, you will need to create a login and password. 

You will need to provide your supporting documents, such as copies of your degree certificate and passport. You have two options for submitting these documents:

1. Uploading Documents (Preferred Method):

   All documents must be uploaded in .pdf format. Download and read the Guidelines to upload files to ensure all documents are correctly formatted and submitted.

Submitting Supporting Documentation

To submit your documents, follow these instructions:

1. Ensure all documents are in electronic format and saved as .pdf files. This format is preferred as it ensures your documents are readable and reduces the risk of delays.

2. Once all your documents are ready, upload them to the relevant section on the online application platform. This method allows you to maintain control over your application and ensure all documents are submitted together.

4. Technical Issues: If you encounter any issues uploading your files, please contact the FIFA Master Team at fifamaster.admin@cies.ch for assistance.

2. Sending by Regular Post: If you choose not to upload your documents, you may send them by regular post. However, uploading is preferred to ensure timely and secure delivery.

Please note:

You do not have to complete the online application in one sitting or from one computer. You can access and modify your application as many times as you like before submitting it, from any computer with internet access. There is an option to “Preview” a draft PDF version of your application, allowing you to review your entries. Please note that this PDF is for your personal use only and should not be posted to CIES under any circumstances.

Ensure that you complete all sections (1 to 6) of the FIFA Master Online Application. All fields marked with a * are mandatory and must be filled out. For the essay questions, adhere to the word limit. When you are satisfied with your application, follow the instructions in step 6 of the online form to submit it.
