University of Auckland International Student Excellence Scholarship was established in 2016.
The main purpose of the Scholarship is to attract new international students of high caliber to enroll in undergraduate or postgraduate study of one year or more at Waipapa Taumata Rau, University of Auckland on a fully funded Scholarship of up to $10,000 towards compulsory tuition fees for new International undergraduate and postgraduate students.

Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for this scholarship you must:
- Be an international student
- Be either a new student who has received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission, or an English Language Academy (ELA) student who has received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission, or a student enrolled, or enrolling, in the Summer Start International program who has received a conditional or unconditional offer of admission
- Be enrolled, or enrolling, full-time in either a Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip) or master’s degree
How to apply for a scholarship
- The link to the application form will be updated on the application page once the scholarship is open.
- Make sure you complete and submit your online application form to the Scholarship Office by the scholarship due date.
Submit your online application alongside the following documents:
- Written statement: You should only include information relevant to the application. We recommend you read the application form first and then draft your statements in a separate document before adding them to the form
- Academic record: If you have already completed some tertiary study at the University of Auckland, you don’t need to provide an academic transcript with your application
- Academic transcripts showing all grades with your application
- Proof of English proficiency
- References
