What the Jilin Provincial Government Scholarship Covers

  • Tuition fees are fully waived for the entire 2-year duration of the scholarship, ensuring that students do not have to worry about the cost of their education.
  • Accommodation fees are also waived, but this benefit specifically covers a double room. This means that students will share their living space with another student, which can be a great opportunity for cultural exchange and building friendships.
  • Each student will receive a monthly living allowance of RMB 1,700. This stipend is designed to help cover daily living expenses such as food, transportation, and other personal needs. It allows students to focus more on their studies and less on financial concerns.

Eligibility Criteria for the Jilin Provincial Government Scholarship 

  • Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens in good health.
  • Education and age requirements (at the time of application): Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under 35 years old.
  • Chinese proficiency: Applicants must possess a new HSK Level 5 certificate or demonstrate equivalent Chinese proficiency

  • Notarized highest academic certificate 
  • Notarized transcript of highest academic degree 
  • Study or research plan (1 copy): no less than 800 words, written in Chinese or English
  • Two letters of recommendation from professors or associate professors: The letters must be signed, stamped, and include a contact number and email address
  • Works of art majors: Music majors should provide a 30-minute performance CD (composition majors should provide sheet music and CD); Fine arts majors should provide 6 color photos of their works (2 sketches, 2 color paintings, and 2 other works)
  • Copy of Foreigner Physical Examination Form: The physical examination form must be in the specified format, and the original should be submitted upon admission
  • Copy of valid passport
  • Eight identification photos with a white background, 3.5cm x 5.3cm

Application Procedure for the Jilin Provincial Government Scholarship 

Paper application materials must be sent by EMS, DHL, or SF Express.

Note: All application materials must be completed in Chinese or English. If the materials are not in Chinese or English, they must be accompanied by a notarized translation in Chinese or English.

Yanbian University graduates do not need to provide graduation certificates and transcripts.

Incomplete application materials will not be accepted, and application materials will not be returned regardless of the admission outcome.

Application materials sent by fax or email will not be accepted.

If you fail to arrive in China within the admission period, your scholarship will not be retained.
