The France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship Program, established by the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, aims to attract top international students to French universities for master’s and PhD programs.

This scholarship provides financial support for tuition fees, travel expenses, health insurance, and a monthly stipend. Master’s recipients will receive €1,181 per month, while PhD recipients will receive €1,700. The program is open to applicants from all over the world.

The application process begins in October, and only applications submitted through French higher education institutions will be accepted. The 2025 call for application is currently open with a submission deadline in January 2025.

Eligibility Criteria for the Fully Funded Eiffel Excellence Scholarship

  • Only non-French citizens are eligible to apply. French dual nationality holders are not eligible.
  • Master’s level applicants must not be older than 25 years at the time of the 2025 application.
  • PhD level applicants must not be older than 30 years at the time of the 2025 application.
  • Applicants who have previously been rejected for the Eiffel Scholarship are not eligible to apply again. However, students who have previously received the scholarship at the master’s level can reapply for the PhD level
  • For master’s programs, applicants must be applying for a master’s degree in France
  • For PhD programs, applicants must be enrolled in a joint doctoral program between a French and a foreign institution.
  • Candidates must apply through a French university. Only these institutions can submit applications for the scholarship on behalf of their students.

Application Procedure for the France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship

1. Apply to a French University or Higher Education Institution: You must first apply to a French institution that offers the program you are interested in. Only French universities or higher education institutions are allowed to submit applications for the Eiffel Scholarship.

2. Get Accepted: Once you are accepted into the program, the French university will proceed with submitting an application for the Eiffel Scholarship on your behalf.
