What the Fully Funded Swedish Institute Scholarship Covers

Eligibility Criteria for the Fully Funded Swedish Institute Scholarship
The eligibility criteria for the Swedish Institute (SI) Scholarship for Global Professionals are as follows:
1. Citizenship: You must be a citizen of a country eligible for the SI Scholarship (Find the list of eligible countries for previous years below). You do not need to reside in your country of citizenship at the time of the application. Dual citizens should only use one citizenship when applying.
2. Master’s Program: You must apply to one of the eligible master’s programs in Sweden. Over 700 English-taught master’s programs are eligible for the scholarship, and the list of eligible programs will be published on 1 November 2024 on the website.
3. University Admission: You must be liable to pay tuition fees to Swedish universities and follow the application process through University Admissions. You need to be admitted (or conditionally admitted) to one of the eligible master’s programs by 27 March 2025.
4. Work Experience: You must demonstrate relevant work experience. The required amount and type of work experience may vary by region, but applicants with more experience will be prioritized. For certain regions, at least 3,000 hours of work experience are required, which can be accumulated from up to three employers.
5. Leadership Experience: You must have demonstrated leadership experience in your current or previous roles, which could include leading colleagues, influencing strategy, or being involved in decision-making processes. Leadership experience can also be gained through civil society or organizational involvement.
6. Other Restrictions:
- You are not eligible if you are currently enrolled in or hold a degree from a Swedish university, have previously been awarded an SI scholarship, or have resided in Sweden for two years or more prior to the start of the scholarship period.
- Individuals with Swedish or EU/EEA citizenship, Swedish permanent residence permits, or dual citizenship in ineligible countries are not eligible (except for specific cases such as Ukrainian applicants under temporary protection or Moldovans with Romanian citizenship).

Application Procedure for the Fully Funded Swedish Institute Scholarship
Here is the application procedure for the SI Scholarship
1. Apply for a Master’s Programme:
Timeline: 15 October 2024 – 15 January 2025
Complete your application for a master’s program at a Swedish university through University Admissions before the January deadline.
2. Apply for the Global Professionals Scholarship:
Timeline: 10 February 2025 – 26 February 2025
Once you have applied for a master’s program, submit your scholarship application through the designated portal during the application period.
3. SI Screening and Evaluation:
Timeline: 27 February 2025 – 26 March 2025
Your scholarship application will be screened and evaluated by the Swedish Institute.
4. Notifications from University Admissions:
Timeline: 27 March 2025
You will receive notifications regarding your admission status from University Admissions.
5. Final Evaluation and Announcement of Scholarship Recipients:
Timeline: 27 March 2025 – 24 April 2025
