What the Fully Funded American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship

  • The Fully Funded American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship covers all billable expenses, including tuition, room, and board. However, students are responsible for all other expenses like health insurance, books, airfare, and miscellaneous costs that are estimated at around US$4,000 annually.
  • In addition to two full scholarships, American University also offers partial scholarships valued at up to US$40,000 per year. Applicants who are considered for partial scholarships must demonstrate that they can cover the remaining expenses beyond this amount.

Eligibility Criteria for the Fully Funded American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship

To be eligible for this prestigious scholarship, you must:

  • Be an international student requiring a visa to study in the U.S.
  • Not be a U.S citizen, permanent resident, or hold dual citizenship.
  • Have a minimum 3.8 GPA (or equivalent) and rank in the top 10% of your class.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to leadership, community service, and addressing issues in your home country.
  • Meet specific English proficiency standards, such as a 95+ TOEFL iBT score or a 7.0+ IELTS score.

Application Procedure for the Fully Funded American University Emerging Global Leader Scholarship 2025

The application process involves two key steps:

  1. Complete the Common Application or Coalition Application: Submit all required documents (such as transcripts and test scores) before December 1, 2024.
  2. Submit the Scholarship Application after completing Step 1.

After a Successful Application

Applicants will be notified of their status by April 1, 2025. Semi-finalists and finalists will be required to participate in Zoom interviews or submit additional essays.

For those not selected, American University may still offer partial merit scholarships. However, to proceed, proof of sufficient funds must be provided(up to US$81,620) to cover the first year’s costs.
