The Fulbright Foreign Student Program provides opportunities for graduate students, young professionals, and artists from around the world to study and conduct research in the United States. The program operates in over 160 countries, awarding scholarships to approximately 4,000 foreign students each year.

Every year, the program gives awards to around 8,000 students, scholars, teachers, artists, and professionals from the U.S. and over 160 other countries. What makes Fulbright stand out is its unique setup between countries and its merit-based selection process, which looks at academic success and potential to solve big global problems. People from all kinds of backgrounds can apply, and they’re selected no matter their race, gender, nationality, age, religion, where they live, social status, disability, sexual orientation, or gender identity. The program is managed by binational Fulbright Commissions/Foundations or U.S. Embassies, and all applications are processed through these offices.
