The Türkiye Scholarship is a government-funded higher education scholarship program run by the Republic of Türkiye for international students. The primary purpose of the Türkiye Scholarship is to provide equal opportunities to successful students around the world. For many years, Türkiye has been providing scholarship opportunities to international students from BSc, MSc and PhD levels respectively. Türkiye Scholarship provides international students with the opportunity to study and receive scholarships at the most prestigious universities in Türkiye. The Türkiye Scholarship is designed differently and specific for each education level.
About the scholarship
- Provides university and department placements.
- Covers full tuition fees.
- Offers a 1-year Turkish language course.
- Provides accommodation for students arriving in a new country.
- Supports you on your journey to Turkey and when you return to your country at the end of your education period and covers your once-off flight ticket.
- Allows you to take full advantage of widespread health services when necessary with health insurance.
- Provides a monthly stipend. 3.500 TL at the undergraduate level, 5.000 TL at the Master’s level, and 6.500 TL at PhD level per month.

Undergraduate Scholarship Program
Applications for the scholarship program, which provides education in numerous departments in the fields of engineering, social sciences, health sciences, and basic sciences, are received in January-February, which is the application period every year through the Turkish Scholarships Application System (TBBS). Almost all undergraduate programs are available, except for associate degrees and vocational schools.
Graduate Scholarship Program
Various programs are offered at the master’s and PhD levels in the fields of social sciences, humanities, natural sciences, and engineering at prestigious universities in Türkiye. Almost all fields of study are offered except the health departments. The universities and departments that candidates can choose may vary depending on the educational background of the candidates. Candidates can only choose from the universities and departments offered to them in the system.
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Academic Achievement:
- For undergraduate candidates: 70%
- For graduate candidates: 75%
- For candidates in Health Sciences (Medicine, Dentistry, and Pharmacy): 90%
Age Criteria
- For undergraduate programs: being under the age of 21
- For master’s programs: being under the age of 30
- For PhD programs: being under the age of 35
- For Research Scholarship: being under the age of 50
Eligible Groups:
- Citizens of all countries
- Graduates or those who will graduate at the end of the current academic year (before August 2024)
- Researchers and academics
- Individuals who are currently enrolled in programs in Turkish universities at the level of education will apply.
Ineligible Groups:
- Turkish citizens and individuals who have lost Turkish citizenship.
Application Procedure
- Create your account on the Türkiye Scholarships application systems
- Upload all required documents. It will also be beneficial for you to include your extracurricular activities and achievements in different fields.
- List your dream university and program preference
- Write original letters of intent explaining your preferences, expectations, and goals for the future.
- You can submit your application after reviewing all the stages and documents.
Required Documents
For applications made online through the Türkiye Scholarships Application System (TBBS), all candidates must upload the following documents to the system:
- A valid identity document, ID card, or passport
- A photograph of the candidate taken within the last 1 year
- National exam results (if any)
- Diploma or temporary graduation certificate
- Transcript
- International exam results (GRE, GMAT, SAT, etc.) if required by the chosen university or program
- International language test results such as TOEFL, DELF if required by the chosen university or program
- A proposal for a research topic and a written example of the research you have carried out (only for PhD applications)

Other scholarships available by the Türkiye scholarships
Applications will be open to applicants who wish to study at bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral levels. Other programs such as Research Scholarships, Success Scholarships, and KATİP have different application periods and are announced regularly on the website and social media channels.
the turkiye burslarie scholarship is very narrowly limited to age of under 21. that’s not cool thing and I wish if there’s some kind of consideration about that.
